A comprehensive ground fire is ongoing at the E20 Leggesta between Nykvarn and Strängnäs.
The rescue service has managed to surround the fire and helicopters are on the way to help with the extinguishing work.
– We currently have staff from four stations working, in a little while we get help from helicopters from Västerås via MSB, says Lars Stevelind, guard officer at the rescue service.
A lane has been shut down and used by the rescue service, traffic can still pass past the site.
– There are no buildings nearby, we have an estimate that the fire is between 2000 and 3000 square meters, says Lars Stevelind.
Helicopters have also been called in via MSB, according to the rescue service, it is not certain that they will participate in the extinguishing work.
– We have entered a delays, we have surrounded the fire now, says Lars Stevelind.
According to the Swedish Transport Administration, the incident has a major impact on traffic. The forecast is that traffic will roll as usual again at 16.
