Marine Lorphelin has teamed up with the sports and swimwear brand Luz and has imagined a collection that arrives right at the time of spring. Meeting with Miss France 2012, general practitioner and creative apprentice.
A new career for Marine Orphan ? There Miss France 2013 takes its first steps in design thanks to a collaboration with the sports and swimwear brand Luz. Claire and Alix Mougenot, the founders of the brand launched in 2011, contacted the young woman because they all share the same love for water sports and the ocean, combined with a deep respect for the environment. Marine Lorphelin explains: “We have been working on this collection for six months. She understands our two points of view, mine, aesthetic, and that of Luz”, familiar with production constraints and eco-responsible issues. “Working remotely was a real challenge.“, confides Claire Mougenot.
It is true that between Noumeawhere the one who is now a general practitioner lives, and Luz, based in the XVIth Parisian arrondissement, there are 16,732 kilometers. Which didn’t stop the three women from delivering an ultra-desirable capsule. “The idea of this line, titled Sea the Wavewas to reproduce the colors of sunrise and sunset on surf suits and colorful swimsuits“, summarizes Marine Lorphelin, eager to fill a gap in a market where clothing reserved for water sports comes in all shades of black. Without forgetting that the pieces are made in Europe from durable SPF50 anti-UV materials.
An important point for the first runner-up of Miss World 2013 : “My relationship to fashion is very simple. I like to be well dressed, but in simplicity. And above all, I don’t want to consume too much. I haven’t been buying fast fashion for a long time and I prefer quality brands, committed in terms of production, supply… Moreover, I buy a lot of second-hand items and I refuse to promote around clothes“.
