Marine Le Pen sure of being re-elected in the legislative elections? What results on June 30 and July 7?

Marine Le Pen sure of being re elected in the legislative

For 7 years, Marine Le Pen has been a deputy for the 11th constituency of Pas-de-Calais. For these early legislative elections in 2024, what are her chances of being re-elected?

Marine Le Pen leaves the reins of the legislative elections to Jordan Bardella, who is officially leading the legislative campaign as party leader. She does not wish, in fact, to claim the potential post of Prime Minister in the event of a victory leading the far right to compose a majority in the Assembly: “It will be Jordan Bardella. I have always told the French that we work in the framework of a political couple, me towards the presidency of the Republic, and he towards Matignon, she reaffirmed on the TF1 set Monday June 10. If such a scenario happened in July, she would become “president of the majority group of a cohabitation government”, as she mentioned in Figaro.

Marine Le Pen is, however, involved in the campaign for these next legislative elections as a tutelary figure. She notably participated in a meeting with her niece Marion Maréchal, who wanted an agreement between Reconquête and the RN for the early legislative elections.

She is above all a candidate for her own succession in the 11th constituency of Pas-de-Calais, Hénin-Beaumont-Carvin. Facing her stand several adversaries such as the PS national secretary in charge of disability, Samira Laal, for the New Popular Front or the jurist Geoffrey Fournier, Reconquest candidate. Also in the race are Dorian Lamy, Michel Lanoy, Gautier Weinmann and Dominique Gai.

What result for Marine Le Pen in the legislative elections?

Marine Le Pen is already well established in the region. In 2022, during the last legislative elections, she was elected with 61.03% of the votes in the constituency, during the second round against the ecologist Marine Tondelier, who obtained 38.97%. The MP even almost went to the first round with 53.96% of the votes but was prevented from doing so by lack of voters and the technical threshold necessary for validation of the election in the first round.

She has retained this position since 2017, when she obtained 58.60% of the votes cast in the second round. Marine Le Pen was also departmental councilor for Pas-de-Calais. Hénin-Beaumont is thus a real electoral stronghold for the president of the RN in the National Assembly. The RN list for the Europeans also obtained 61% of the votes. A completely exceptional score which demonstrates that the commune and the constituency is now an electoral stronghold of the National Rally.
