Marine Le Pen, the leader of France’s largest party National Collection, has been charged with, together with 24 other party members, to have embezzled almost seven million euros from the EU budget.
Now she and eight other former or current EU parliament members are declared guilty, reports Le Monde.
The penalty for Le Pen has not yet been published, but the prosecution has claimed for prison sentences, fines and a policy ban, which would mean that she will be suspended from standing in elections over the next five years.
