Marie Nordh is a so-called “reborn artist”. She has previously worked as an artist and painted pictures of newborn children, before almost five years ago she started painting realistic baby dolls.
Among other things, Marie Nordh has sold dolls to Maria Sjöholm in Vassunda, whom SVT previously met. In total, around 500 people in Sweden own such lifelike dolls.
Used as an actor
Among other things, Marie Nordh has sold a doll that was used in the TV series Snow Angels where it represented a “real” baby.
– I can understand that people find it a bit strange and scary precisely because it looks like real children. But it’s not really that strange, it’s like any other hobby, she says.
