Mari Eder, 34, has taken steps in a new direction, but has also continued her training.

Biathlete Mari Ederin the name was not found in the list of recipients of the winter sports athlete grant from the ministry of education and culture, published on tuesday. There is a simple reason for this: Eder did not apply for a grant.
There has been speculation that Eder, 34, will end his career. Failure to apply for a grant is a step in that direction, but Eder has not yet made a final decision.
– It’s probably no secret that I’ve been thinking about continuing my career. I came to the conclusion that whether or not my career continues, I am not in a situation in my career where I would like to apply for a scholarship again. I have also worked with partners, Eder told Sport.
– It felt like a natural way and maybe it also steers me in some way towards the kind of things I want to bring into my life. I’m really grateful for the grants and support from supporters over the years, but now I’ve chosen a different line.
Eder, who lives in Austria, is aware of new things in his life, but he has also practiced after a break after a slightly longer season than usual.
– My intention is to start a company with my husband, which will hopefully be running well by next half of next year at the latest. I still haven’t made the actual decision to pursue my career. It would be a passion to compete and I have practiced so much that I find myself ignited for practice as well.
– I’m in such a middle ground that I don’t know what life brings and how much new stuff it takes. Is there time left for professional sports and, on the other hand, does the passion take you in another direction.
Eder does not set an actual deadline for when a decision must be made.
– I’d like to say, let’s see if I’m on the line in winter. Of course, I also have practical goals that need to be met. Therefore, it will surely take shape earlier.
Eder, who has won two World Cup competitions, summarizes his situation as follows:
– I have not made the last decision, but some kind of measures in a new direction.
