Barbie will be an unparalleled event, as the first teaser trailer shows, which you can watch here. In it, the doll with the inspirational monolith from the science fiction classic 2001: A Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrick. One look at Barbie actress Margot Robbie (The Suicide Squad) and the girls smash their baby dolls. This is followed by a few more glimpses of the film, including Ryan Gosling as Ken, who looks like he did when he auditioned for Cobra Kai Season 6.

What’s the movie starring Harley Quinn star Margot Robbie about?
The story information is a bit sketchy. But the synopsis of Barbie promises the following: A Barbie doll is banned from Barbieland, because it is not perfect enough and deviates from the norm. She embarks on an adventure in the real world.
Ryan Gosling plays Ken, a “dumb” doll who is said to be obsessed with Barbie. Will Ferrell (stepbrothers) takes over in one meta twist the role of CEO of Barbie maker Mattel.
Barbie is directed by Little Women director Greta Gerwig, who co-wrote the screenplay with partner and Marriage Story director Noah Baumbach.
When is Barbie coming to the cinema?
We’ll have to be patient for a while before we can meet Barbie in person. The film only starts on 07/20/2023 in German cinemas.
The cast includes Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, Sex Education star Emma Mackey, her Netflix classmate Ncuti Gatwa and Shang Chi actor Simu Liu.
