During February, the jet stream picked up steam and swung us into three storms midway through the month. Cabauw measured an hourly average of 46 knots, which is 9 Beaufort, during the strongest storm, named Eunice. That day wreaked havoc on our province, with snapped trees, blown away construction equipment and chaos on the roads. February did produce a record amount of wind energy. March followed with high solar yields and with a surprise on the border with April. No one thought about winter anymore, but suddenly there was snow. The snow layer in De Bilt was 5 centimeters thick.
