MARC LAVOINE. Since 2020, singer Marc Lavoine has been married to novelist Line Papin. A relationship that makes a lot of ink flow…
In the summer of 2020, the magazine Public revealed that Marc Lavoine and Line Papin were married on Saturday July 25 at the town hall of the Vth arrondissement of Paris. At 57, Marc Lavoine has shared his life with Line Papin, 24, for several years. The latter, a novelist, was born in Hanoi, Vietnam in December 1995. And their 33-year age difference does not change anything for them. “I don’t see it. That’s not how I understand life. Everyone does what they want,” confided the young woman to Liberation last May.
Daughter of a French father with a degree in history and a mother who was a primary school teacher, then a translator, Line Papin grew up in France from the age of ten. In Paris, she studied art history at the Sorbonne and immersed herself in writing. Her first novel, Awakening, is a first success hailed by critics and awarded several literary prizes.
She was only 20 years old at the time. Since then, Line Papin has continued its momentum, publishing Tony in 2018, then Girls’ Bones, in 2019. The success is such that the young woman is already considered one of the most promising novelists of her generation. And the coach of The Voice either, no longer hides his feelings for Line Papin. “I am in love with this woman”, confided the singer to Nice Matin, explaining that the young novelist was the “more beautiful light than life [lui] brought with [s]are children”. And to go further: I had been in the dark for 10-15 years… There, I see the colors again. I am happy. So why hide?”
The relationship between Marc Lavoine and Line Papin inevitably attracts attention. And regularly arouses rumors, especially about a breakup. This is also a question he had to answer in the columns of Paris Match, this Thursday, January 13, 2022. Asked about the sadness that emerges from the song iceberg love, adapted from a poem by Line Papin and taken from her ablum Adult Never, he replies: “Ccuriously this sadness makes me happy. I feed on it. Because I know I’m alive.”
Since the 1980s, Marc Lavoine has settled comfortably into the French musical landscape. Born August 6, 1962 in Longjumeau, Seine-et-Oise, he is the second son of Lucien Lavoine, PTT employee and CGT activist, and Micheline Collin, secretary and Catholic, who died in 2011. His older brother, Francis , is a musician. Very quickly, he became passionate about music, growing up in this family of music lovers: very young, he wrote his own texts. Then, at 16, he embarked on his other passion, the theatre.
From “girly singer” in the 1980s to confirmed artist today, Marc Lavoine has gone through the ages without questioning his place in the French variety. Since his debut in 1983, after 12 studio albums and around thirty films, the interpreter of She has piercing eyes is obviously not ready to stop: in 2019 he unveiled a new album, a best-of pieces of love, composed of 7 previously unreleased tracks.
On the private side, Marc Lavoine had two wives: the model Denise Pascale, mother of Simon, his first son, then Sarah Poniatowski, with whom he had three children. At only nine years old, the youngest of Marc Lavoine’s siblings of four children, started on the YouTube platform! It was on Instagram, at the very beginning of the summer of 2019, that the boy appealed to his subscribers: follow him on his new channel on which he shares his passion for football and where several videos have already been uploaded since June.
