Russian Kaliningrad, home of the Russian Baltic Fleet, will soon be completely surrounded by NATO countries. The small Russian land area sandwiched between Lithuania and Poland is now expected to be strengthened following Sweden’s and Finland’s NATO application. But the area has long been heavily militarized with ships, planes and missiles reaching Sweden in just a few minutes.
