All train departures from Stockholm to Uppsala will be canceled June 4-7 due to planned track work.
– It’s rubbish like stump. It is the Arlanda commuter, it is the commuter trains that MTR runs, it is SJ trains. Everything north from Stockholm, says the Swedish Transport Administration’s press manager Bengt Ohlsson to Expressen.
The track work has been planned for a long time and will be carried out at Sollentuna and Häggvik.
– These are planned track works, so there is really no major drama. We have chosen to cancel our regional trains to Uppsala and have deliberately not sold tickets that route. The trains that go north from Stockholm are instead redirected, says Leila Fogelholm at SJ’s press office.
Mälartåg and SL’s commuter trains to and from Uppsala will be replaced by buses and other solutions, according to the Swedish Transport Administration.
At the same time, other traffic disruptions occur in Stockholm as a result of three major climate meetings and marathons. The police have warned that escorts of delegates, roadblocks and security arrangements will mean recurring traffic disruptions and limited traffic throughout the week.
