At least 36 soldiers were reportedly killed in Israeli raids on Aleppo province in northern Syria on Friday, the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said.
According to SOHR, Israel must have attacked an area where the Iran-loyal and Hamas-allied Shia militia Hezbollah has weapons depots.
Israel has not commented on the data. During the decade or so that the war in Syria has been going on, Israel has carried out hundreds of attacks in the country, but these are rarely announced officially.
Since the war in Gaza began with the bloody attack by Hamas on October 7, the number of attacks of this type has escalated.
