Many questions arise after Prigozhins failed rebellion against Russian power

Two days after the rebellion of Yevgeny Prigojine and his paramilitary organization Wagner, many questions remain unanswered. Where is the former close friend of Vladimir Putin and what agreement did he find with the Kremlin to put an end to his mutiny if an agreement really exists? Another question: who supported Yevgeni Prigojine within the Russian elite to attempt such an adventure? Unanswered questions even if it seems more and more obvious that the founder of Wagner could not act without help.

According to US intelligence, the Russian president was aware at least 24 hours before the start of the mutiny that Yevgeny Prigozhin was up to something. And if Vladimir Putin waited until Saturday morning, June 24, that is to say more than 12 hours after the start of this rebellion, to intervene publicly, it is certainly because in the meantime he had to work to reassure relatives and partners who might have defected.

According to many observers and fine connoisseurs of Wagner and the mysteries of power in Russia, Evgueni Prigojine enjoyed support within the presidential administration, as well as within the Ministry of Defense. The one who is nicknamed “Putin’s cook” would also have links with part of the most right fringe of the Russian political class.

Supporters who did not show up once the mutiny was launched, unlike the former Russian oligarch, now exiled, Mikhail Khodorkovsky who did not hesitate to call for support for the founder of the Wagner group, believing that everything is good to take to weaken Vladimir Putin.

More than 48 hours after the start of this rebellion which highlighted cracks within Russian power, it is still difficult to see clearly. And it is not Evgueni Prigojine, who has disappeared from the radar since Saturday evening June 24, who will be able to provide details. His Telegram accounts have been suspended.
