Around 680,000 French people are eligible for this bonus, which can be paid in a few days.
In a few days, many French people could be pleasantly surprised to see a bonus arrive in their bank account, a welcome little extra at the start of summer. Enough to fill the budget a little in anticipation of summer expenses. But the payment, which could arrive in the next few days, will not be automatic. You have to think about claiming this money to be able to benefit from it. The process is very simple and it is better to take the time to do it.
Around 680,000 French people are eligible for this bonus, which ranges from 40 to 250 euros. To do this, you only need one thing: get your baccalaureate! It doesn’t matter whether the grade is fairly good, good or very good, or whether there is none at all, there are many financial reward schemes available after you graduate from high school. Generally, it is the banks that offer various deals. Even if it is not your usual bank, you can definitely go and claim the most attractive offer.
On the Banque Populaire side (€50), you simply need to present your diploma. The money will then be paid, regardless of whether or not you have an honors degree. If you are already a customer of the bank, this will be done automatically. Otherwise, you will need to open an account at the branch of your choice. Don’t worry, this will not mean that you have to transfer all your money from one bank to another. Opening a current account, even if you do not intend to make any transactions with it, is sufficient.
The conditions are the same at Société Générale, but the group offers to pay up to 240 euros. For its part, CIC awards bonuses according to the grade achieved: 40 euros for a fairly good grade, 80 euros for a good grade and 160 euros for a very good grade.
Now that the results of the baccalaureate are known, you should not delay in contacting the banks to be able to benefit from these amounts. The deadline to benefit from this system is set at August 5 for Banque Populaire, September 30 for CIC and October 31 for Société Générale.
To date, these are the only banks offering these bonuses: BNP no longer does, nor Fortuneo or Boursorama. La Banque Postale does not. As for Caisse d’Epargne, bonuses can be granted, but this is only decided at the regional level. You must therefore contact your branch to find out whether the system is in place or not.
