“There are now only losers,” says resident and member of the core group ‘New energy for Vechtstroom’ Nick Mok. “There is apparently no manageable way for the municipality to get Overvecht off the gas, which is very sad. And the district still does not have an answer or clarity, which puts even more pressure on the climate ambition.” Mok thinks it would have helped if Eneco had drawn this conclusion earlier. “We are back to square one, while the need for a solution increases and so do the prices. Ultimately it will become more expensive for the residents of Overvecht.”
