At least 15 people have died in two severe landslides in central Mexico. Several residential buildings were swept away by mudslides in the town of San Luis Ayucan in the extended metropolitan region of the capital Mexico City on Saturday.
When rescuers managed to get through the race masses, nine victims were discovered and confirmed. Three people could be rescued from the ruins.
On Monday, the town of Naucalpan suffered another landslide due to the extensive rains. Six people, probably belonging to the same family, were killed in a house collapse, according to local rescue authorities.
Naucalpan is also located in the metropolitan area of the megacity Mexico City.
