Many dead in explosion in Russia

At least 11 people, including two children, have died in an explosion at a gas station outside Makhachkala in Russian Dagestan, local authorities said.

A criminal investigation into the cause of the explosion has begun, the authorities in the sub-republic announce. Just over a year ago, 35 people died and 115 were injured in an explosion at another gas station in Dagestan.
