More than 20 bodies have been retrieved from the sea off northern Senegal after a migrant boat bound for Europe sank, a regional governor has announced.
A further 20 people have been rescued.
It is unclear how many people were on board the boat, but survivors say there may have been hundreds.
Senegal’s coast is an increasingly common point of departure for African migrants heading for the Canary Islands.
