ARRESTED

In the statement made by the Azerbaijani State Security Service, it was stated that Manukyan, an Armenian citizen and member of the Armenian army, was arrested in Karabakh. In the statement, it was noted that despite the provision of the “withdrawal of the Armenian army from Azerbaijani territory” in the tripartite declaration signed between Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia on November 10, 2020, it was determined that Manukyan remained in the region and served as the so-called “First Deputy Commander of the Karabakh Defense Army”.

Ruben Vardanyan, the former “minister of state” of the Armenian regime in Karabakh, was also detained by border guards while trying to cross from Karabakh to Armenia on September 27. Vardanyan, who was brought to Baku and brought before the judge, was accused of “financing terrorism”, “illegal armed forces”.
