Following the anti-terrorism operation in Karabakh, Azerbaijan continues to capture the commanders and administrators of the so-called regime who committed terrorist crimes in the region.
CAUGHT AT THE BORDER GATE
According to the indictment prepared by the Security Service, it was determined that Manukyan took part in acts of terrorism and sabotage by not withdrawing his armed forces from Karabakh, despite the triple declaration signed on November 10, 2020.
It was reported that Manukyan was caught at the Lachin border gate while trying to cross into Armenia.
ARRESTED
In the statement made by the Azerbaijani State Security Service, it was stated that Manukyan, an Armenian citizen and member of the Armenian army, was arrested in Karabakh. In the statement, it was noted that despite the provision of the “withdrawal of the Armenian army from Azerbaijani territory” in the tripartite declaration signed between Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia on November 10, 2020, it was determined that Manukyan remained in the region and served as the so-called “First Deputy Commander of the Karabakh Defense Army”.
It was reported that Manukyan was also found to be involved in the organization of terrorist acts such as disrupting public security, creating panic among the public, explosions and fires in Azerbaijan.
He was brought before the judge on charges of “repeated terrorism by an organized group”, “illegal acquisition, storage and transportation of firearms, their components, ammunition, explosives and devices”, “forming armed groups and units not prescribed by law” and “illegal crossing of the Azerbaijani border”. It was stated that Manukyan was arrested.
VARDANYAN WAS ALSO ARRESTED
Ruben Vardanyan, the former “minister of state” of the Armenian regime in Karabakh, was also detained by border guards while trying to cross from Karabakh to Armenia on September 27. Vardanyan, who was brought to Baku and brought before the judge, was accused of “financing terrorism”, “illegal armed forces”. He was arrested on charges of “taking part in the formation and activities of groups” and “crossing the Azerbaijani border illegally”. (AA-IHA)
