Manuel Bompard’s result in the legislative elections: well ahead

Manuel Bompards result in the legislative elections well ahead

BOMPARD MANUAL. Protected by Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Emmanuel Bompard clearly came out on top in the 4th constituency of Bouches-du-Rhône, ahead of Ensemble!.

[Mis à jour le 12 juin 2022 à 22h07] Invested by Nupes, the candidate Emmanuel Bompard comes first in the 4th constituency of Bouches-du-Rhône. He gets 52.9% of the votes and is ahead of Najat Akodad of the Ensemble coalition (15.10%). Historically on the left, this constituency is therefore once again gleaned by the camp of Jean-Luc Mélenchon during this first all of the legislative elections. “It is the first time in the history of the legislative elections which takes place a few weeks after the presidential election that the president achieves less than 30% of the votes. It is a defeat, a scathing disavowal for Emmanuel Macron” declared Emmanuel Bompard on the set of BFMTV this Sunday, June 12 in the evening.

Who is Manuel Bompard, legislative candidate in Marseille?

Marseille is not the land of origin of Manuel Bompard, any more than the Haute-Garonne, department in which he presented himself for the legislative elections in 2017. The rebellious is from the Loire but he is ready to go where it is necessary to defend the colors of La France insoumise, a party he joined from its creation in 2009 when it was still called the Left Party. The politician does not lack commitment, however, in his university career, nothing reflects this desire to do politics. Manuel Bompard is a graduate of Ensimag, an engineering school in Grenoble, and holds a doctorate in applied mathematics from the University of Nice Sophie Antipolis. After his studies, he joined the party leadership in the role of general secretary for eight years, until 2018.

Manuel Bompard one of the voices of La France insoumise and one of the thinking heads behind the presidential campaigns of Jean-Luc Mélenchon. Seasoned when it comes to being behind the scenes, he has only one elective mandate to his credit, that of MEP. Elected in 2019, he is one of the six LFI MEPs and is the representative of this delegation in the European Parliament. He is also a member of the Committee for Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE), the Committee for Agriculture (AGRI) and the Committee for the Environment, Public Health and food security (ENVI).

Manuel Bompard, one of the founders of the union of the left?

Manuel Bompard was one of the first to carry out the negotiations with ecologists, communists and socialists to build the union of the left today present under the banner of Nupes. Convinced and dedicated rebellious, he was the spokesperson for the Mélenchonist party during the negotiations, an exercise he likes to lead and in which he excels according to the executives of LFI. It is therefore with complete confidence that Jean-Luc Mélenchon has instructed Manuel Bompard, a fine strategist with a sharp political sense according to the description held by his colleagues and certain opponents, to convince the other left-wing forces to unite. By accomplishing his mission, Manuel Bompard has gained further confidence but above all he has protected Jean-Luc Mélenchon from the negotiations, a “precious” detail for the entourage of the tribune. The investiture of the MEP in the 4th constituency of Bouches-du-Rhône is perhaps a thank you for the good and loyal services rendered.
