In the Women’s Superpesis, Manse PP continued the pain of last season’s champion Pori Pesäkarhuje. Last season’s silver team defeated Pori 1-0 at home.
At the same time, Manse moved to the top of the series. Pori’s Pesäkarhuje’s difficult situation continued, as it is currently only seventh, to everyone’s surprise.
– We were very involved in the game today. The opponent had a good success, but we still fought well, and they didn’t get three points, Pesäkarhuje Emilia Mattila stated.
Mansen Maija Vastamäki scored a goal in the match.
– In the first period, there was a better game as a whole. Fortunately, we were able to turn the game around, but there is still a lot to improve.
“Mentally tough place”
Although Pori and Kirittäret, the long-term winners of recent years, are far from the top fight, the situation in the women’s Superpesis is still exciting. Manse leads the series by only one point before Lapua Virkiä, who has had a great season as their new game leader Jussi Muilun under.
The third is Seinäjoki. It is six points away from Manse’s peak position.
The season is already over. Sports expert Kirsi Ala-Lipasti says that in the case of Pori, one can rightly speak of a crisis.
– There were flashes of light today, but if they want to do well, they will have to play with some limits. However, an ok/+ game was enough for Manselle to win.
Pori gets a place for revenge on Friday, when Manse arrives as its guest.
– It’s definitely a mentally tough place. They play a good game in front of their home crowd and the Home crowd is supportive. However, it would be mentally important for them to win the episode there.
