In the season premiere of Fångarna på foret, Jonna Lundell got but after one of the new cells.
She later described that “something in her died”.
In Friday’s episode, YouTuber Manfred Erlandsson tackles the same cell.
– It was probably the scariest thing I’ve been part of, he now tells TV4.
In Friday’s Prisoners at the fort, it is YouTuber Manfred Erlandsson who takes on the cell that terrified Jonna Lundell in the season premiere. This time it was Manfred’s turn to be locked up, strapped in, in a chest with snakes getting in – while Pharaoh Groth tries to get him out by solving a puzzle.
Viewers can see that it becomes a panicky situation for Manfred as well.
– It was probably the scariest thing I’ve ever been through and I closed my eyes the whole time. But when I closed my eyes, I instead saw snakes eating me, and then I panicked even more. I would probably keep my eyes open, says Manfred to TV4.
“Afterwards you feel so damn cool”
As the cell is brand new for the season, he had no idea what he was getting himself into.
– I didn’t really know what it meant, I thought this would be fun. The cell is new, it’s fun to test things and to explore what you are afraid of. But it was a little good… But afterwards you feel so fucking cool that you did it. I remember feeling immortal, that I can handle anything. You can throw me off the fort without a rope, I’ll survive anything! says Manfred.
After her participation in Fångarna på foret, Jonna Lundell said that she cried long after the recordings, and described that “something in her died”. But Manfred has not received any but after the cell, he says. Although he understands why it affected Jonna.
– I don’t think it has affected me that much really, I had a nightmare about snakes a few weeks later so it must have been because of that. But no more than that, he says.
– It was more of a nice thing that I fixed it and survived my fear. I’m not traumatized, but I understand her.
