(Finance) – We are moving towards the refinancing of the psychologist bonusthe contribution to support the expenses related to psychotherapy sessions, introduced in 2022 and which was confirmed and made structural in the last Budget Law. But the unknown of the resources remains. According to what is reported by majority sources, the government is working to confirm the allocation planned for the current year with funds, therefore, for 10 million.
“The commitment to refinance the psychologist bonus is good, but there remains a dramatic lack of resources. When it was introduced, the allocation was 25 million, then it was reduced to 5 and 8 and, only thanks to the opposition, raised to 10, which is still a drop in the ocean given that there were 400 thousand requests and a very small percentage was covered. We will fight to replenish it, to make it more substantial” underlines the Democratic Party Senator Filippo Sensi.
“On the topic of mental health – he continues Senses – there is much more sensitivity in society but then when we go to tighten the funds, as well as on health in general, they remain the Cinderella for this government. In the meantime, the bipartisan proposal for the basic psychologist has run aground in the committee of the House, precisely because of the issue of resources”.
The psychologist bonus it was made structural by raising the maximum amount to 1,500 euros per person and regulating the provision based on the ISEE of the applicant. People suffering from depression, anxiety, stress and psychological fragility, who are in a position to benefit from a psychotherapeutic path, can access the benefit. Starting from 2023, the benefit is recognized only once for each year to individuals in possession of: residence in Italy; valid ISEE value not exceeding 50 thousand euros.
