Manchester City captain Kyle Walker, who won the last three Premier League titles, wants to leave the club, says Pep Guardiola.
Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola said on Saturday that the club captain Kyle Walker has requested a transfer clearance from England’s reigning champions to explore opportunities abroad.
Walker has won a total of 15 football titles – including six Premier League titles – since joining City in a €60m deal from Tottenham in 2017.
– Two days ago, Kyle asked to explore options to play abroad and end his playing career there, confirms Guardiola.
Guardiola says he will not stand in Walker’s way if the England defender decides to leave the club during this month’s transfer window.
The 34-year-old full-back has 18 months left on his contract.
Walker was not part of his team’s strength in Saturday’s FA Cup third round 8-0 win over Salford.
