An administrator at the Migration Board is fired after Säpo sounded an alarm, writes Swedish Radio.
The man must have been “unfair to the Swedish state”.
“It is serious and that is why it has led to a dismissal for this employee,” says Hans Kemkes, security director at the Migration Board, to the radio.
The alarm from the Security Police came in November last year and now the Migration Board has decided to kick the man, reports SR.
Exactly what Säpo has discovered is confidential. But by public documents, according to the radio, the accused officer has for a long time had “inappropriate relations and contacts” outside of working hours.
The Migration Board believes that the man “has been unfair to the Swedish state”.
Admitted the allegations – changed
– The tasks are credible from our perspective and that is why we also act in this way. Yes, it’s serious. And that is also why it has led to a dismissal in this case for this employee, says Hans Kemkes, security director at the Migration Board.
According to SR, the administrator, who in his spare time has been involved in Swedish-Iranian contexts, must have first admitted parts of the charges, but then withdrawn it and completely denied.
The man has worked at the Migration Board for about ten years. Hans Kemkes states to SR that there is no indication that the authority has been damaged or that information has been in the wrong hands.
Säpo does not want to comment on the case.
