He has 22 sets of outstanding charges before Ontario’s courts in total including eight in Sarnia, 10 in Chatham-Kent, and four in Windsor, records show. All but one of the cases are from 2024.
In Sarnia, all of his charges have been accumulated since April. They include eight counts of theft with a value of less $5000 and three counts of disguise with intent.
“Since April of 2024, David Drake is alleged to have committed eight separate shoplifting offenses,” Sarnia police said via email. “Stolen items include $4,000 in power tools and $400 in alcohol.”
A virtual bail hearing started Friday in Sarnia, where Drake appeared by video from the South West Detention Center near Windsor, but it didn’t finish and his charges were adjourned to Tuesday. Following another brief video appearance Tuesday morning from the same jail, his cases were adjourned again. He’ll be back in Sarnia court Friday.
Drake is due back in Windsor court on Wednesday and in Chatham on Friday.
A new warrant has also been issued for Drake in London.
The various charges in all the cities haven’t been tested in court.
