The man who opened an emergency exit on a plane coming in to land in Daegu, South Korea, says he wanted to get off the plane quickly.
– He felt that the flight took longer than it should and felt that he was suffocating inside the cabin, a police officer told AFP.
It was on Friday that the passenger decided to open one of the plane’s emergency exits. The plane was then about 200 meters up in the air.
Several people had to be taken to hospital after having difficulty breathing, but no one is said to have been seriously injured in connection with the incident. The aircraft, with around 200 people on board, was able to land safely.
The man has said during questioning that he felt stressed when he recently lost his job. He now faces up to ten years in prison.
