Democrat politician Nancy Pelosi A man who broke into a California home and attacked his wife with a hammer was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday in a California state court.

David DePape in October 2022 broke into the San Francisco home of Pelosi, who was then Speaker of the House of Representatives. Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi was injured in the attack and underwent surgery.

In June, a California jury found DePape guilty of, among other things, deprivation of liberty, burglary, threatening a relative of a public official and aggravated kidnapping, said CNN.

DePape already received a 30-year prison sentence in federal court in May for assaulting a family member of a federal official and for attempted kidnapping of a federal official.
