A man in his 30s has been requested to be detained on suspicion of having killed a young woman in Ystad.
He is reasonably suspected of murder, a lower degree of suspicion, writes Ystads Allehanda.
– This is because we have not yet received a statement from the coroner and therefore do not know the cause of death. I can say that right now we have nothing to prove that there was violence against the woman, says prosecutor Love Lundin to the newspaper.
The woman, who was in her 20s, was found dead in a home on Christmas Day.
The man has also been requested to be detained on probable cause on suspicion of rape.
– There is other evidence that has come to light that makes us suspect him of rape as well, says Love Lundin.
The custody hearing will be held over the weekend.
