A man wanted by Sarnia police for multiple charges including criminal harassment and breaking and entering has been arrested, police say.

As part of their Wanted Wednesday social media campaign, Sarnia police published a poster on Oct. 2 which included a photo of Matthew Tasker, 33, wanted on charges of criminal harassment, breaking and entering, breaching an undertaking, and uttering threats. The poster included a photo of Tasker wearing a gray hoodie with short brown hair and clean-shaven face.
Police asked anyone who knew where he was to contact them or the local chapter of Crime Stoppers, but they also bailed the public not to confront or attempt to apprehend anyone wanted by police.
In an update Friday, Sarnia police published a new version of the poster on social media with an “arrested” banner placed overtop the photo of Tasker.
Tasker has been kept in custody since his arrest. Wearing standard-issue orange clothes, he made a brief appearance Monday in a Sarnia courtroom by video link from the Sarnia Jail. All of his charges were adjourned to next Monday.
Tasker is facing five sets of charges in total, all of which have been laid this year, records show.
Another person recently featured on the Sarnia police Wanted Wednesday social media campaign linked to a weapons call at East and Wellington streets on Sept. 29 about 2 pm was also arrested last week, Sarnia police said. Kevin Racette, 34, who is facing a long list of charges including armed robbery, was arrested Wednesday by the OPP in Corunna. He is also being held at the Sarnia Jail and will return to court later this month.
