A man in his 30s who has been in custody since February on suspicion of murdering his girlfriend in Jakobsberg in Järfälla municipality has been released.

“The reason why the detention was lifted was that the evidence was weakened so that there were no longer probable cause. He is still reasonably suspected and the preliminary investigation continues,” writes prosecutor Henrik Stiernblad to TT.

The woman, who was in her 20s, was found badly injured on the ground outside next to a multi-storey building on the night of January 31 this year. According to the police, she had probably fallen five floors. The woman was taken to hospital but died later in the day from her injuries.

The man suspected of having pushed or thrown the woman from the balcony has denied the crime and said it was an accident, according to Aftonbladet.
