Customs personnel at Arlanda have stopped a man who had over a kilo of gold with him, Expressen reports.

– Customs found him with the gold, says police spokesperson Anders Bryngelsson.

In recent weeks, several people have been arrested after being caught with expensive watches, gold and cash at Arlanda.

A kilo of gold is worth approximately SEK 800,000 at today’s gold prices, and the man, who was stopped on Tuesday afternoon, is suspected of serious money laundering.

Last year, the Swedish Customs Service stopped the record sum of SEK 93.4 million from leaving the country, of which SEK 87 million related to suspected money laundering.
