Break-ins reported before Christmas
Break-ins within 2 km of each other, took place Dec. 20 in Sarnia, says city police.
In both cases, someone entered homes on Wespencer Gate and Huron Shores Drive after smashing a pane of glass at the rear of the house, police said.

One home was ransacked but it’s believed returning homeowners scared off the intruders at the other location.
Police said a black crossover-style SUV was seen in the area of one of the incidents.
Police say residents can reduce the threat of break-ins by making homes appear occupied while away by using lights and televisions on timers. Also, lock all doors and windows, secure deliveries, avoid posting on social media about trips and expensive gifts and report suspicious activity to police.
