The police in Västerås were alerted to a shooting late on Friday afternoon.
– We received several calls about loud explosions in the area. Once there, a man is found with suspected gunshot wounds, says Magnus Jansson Klarin, press spokesperson at the police.
The extent of the damage is unclear.
Police, emergency services and ambulance are on site.
– We are there with a large number of patrols. Right now we are working to create a picture of what happened, says Magnus Jansson Klarin.
The man, who is 35 years old, is said to be a high-ranking criminal actor in Västerås.
– We have just arrived so there is not much I can say at the moment. We set up cordons in the area and talk to people on site, says Klarin.
