The police were alerted to a shooting in Hökarängen in southern Stockholm at around 8.30pm on Saturday evening. A 25-year-old man was found outdoors with gunshot wounds to the leg.
– He was taken by ambulance to the hospital, I don’t know much about the state of the injury other than that he must have been talkative before going to the hospital, says Anna Westberg, the police’s spokesperson.
The shooting happened in a residential area. The police are looking for at least one perpetrator.
– We have witnesses who saw a person running from the scene, there may be more perpetrators, but that is not something we can establish at the moment.
The police have cordoned off the scene where a technical investigation will be carried out. No one is arrested.
The incident is classified as aggravated weapons offense and particularly aggravated assault. The police are also investigating the incident as aggravated robbery or attempted aggravated robbery.
