A man has been shot at the Mälarhöjden sports ground in Fruängen in southern Stockholm. The injured man was taken to hospital by ambulance. The condition of the injury is not known.
Police received several calls about shots fired at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.
– We are now looking for the perpetrator or perpetrators. We have received several witness statements that we use in the hunt, says police spokesperson Mats Eriksson.
A preliminary investigation into attempted murder has been launched.
No suspect has been arrested, but several people have been brought in for questioning.
The crime scene has been cordoned off for a technical investigation.
The police will investigate whether the shooting can be connected to the recent violence.
– It is not entirely unlikely that there would be connections between this and other acts, says Mats Eriksson.
