Man shot in Rissne north of Stockholm

At around 8.30pm on Tuesday evening, the police were alerted to a shooting in Rissne, north of Stockholm.

In a small wooded area, which is adjacent to a residential area, passers-by found a man with a gunshot wound, whereupon they called the police.

– The man is seriously injured, says Ola Österling, press spokesperson at the police.

– We have an extensive operation with pickets, helicopters, search dogs and civil police in that part of the city, he continues.

The incident is being investigated as attempted murder.

Mapping victims

About 30 minutes later, another man was found with gunshot wounds in Sätra, in southwest Stockholm. The man was treated by police officers on the spot, after being shot in the leg. The shooting in Sätra is being investigated as serious assault.

It is too early to say whether the shootings are connected, says Ola Österling.

– We are surveying the two plaintiffs to see in what context they can be found here and what possible enemies they may have had, he says.
