An alarm about shooting was received at 00.36 and when the police arrived at the scene, a man was found outside in an area with multi-family houses and it was established that shooting had occurred.
“At the moment, we cannot comment on how seriously injured he is, but we have classified the incident as attempted murder and he has been taken to hospital,” says Helena Boström Thomas, press spokesperson at the Stockholm Police.
Several police patrols are on site in the area, and dog patrols and helicopters are also searching for one or more perpetrators.
“We are not going into whether anyone is a suspect now, but no one has been arrested and there is a large operation underway where we are talking to people who may know something,” says Helena Boström Thomas.
The police also do not want to comment on the man’s age.
“As long as we are not completely sure who he is, we will not give an age,” she says.
