Man shot by police in Malmö – taken to hospital by ambulance

The police were alerted to a burglary in Rosengård during the evening.
When they arrived, a perpetrator lunged with a crowbar – which was answered with live fire.

A man has been shot by police in Rosengård in Malmö, the police say.

– We receive an alarm about a burglary during the evening. A perpetrator remained at the scene and makes a lunge with care, says Fredrik Svedemyr, press spokesperson in the South police region.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance. The extent of the damage is unclear.

– Now we await a technical examination, says Fredrik Svedemyr.

According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, two shots were fired at the man who was carrying a crowbar.

He is said to have been hit in the leg and is being treated for minor injuries.
