When the police arrived at the home, which is located in a small town in the eastern Karlskrona municipality, the man had taken out a piece of wood, whereupon a situation arose where the police opened fire on the man. He was hit in the leg and was subsequently taken to hospital.
– We have received information from the healthcare system that it is not life-threatening, says Jimmy Modin, press spokesperson for the police in Region South.
The man is suspected of attempted murder or attempted serious assault, and initially also damage.
