Man shot after shooting in central Uppsala

During the night, several police patrols were alerted to central Uppsala after reports of a shooting. The police, who were reached by the alarm at 02:00, found a man with a gunshot wound when they arrived at the scene.

The man has been taken to hospital with unclear injuries. The police are tight-lipped about the incident and at an early stage cannot provide any further details about the incident.

A preliminary investigation into attempted murder has been opened after the shooting. On their website, the police write that several patrols are still working on the case.

The local newspaper UNT reports that the police have blocked off a parking lot as part of the ongoing investigation.

Restaurant shelled

A few hours earlier, the Södertälje police had been alerted to the Geneta area after several residents in the area heard loud bangs. The police were able to establish that several shots had been fired at a restaurant.

– We looked around for a while and found several shell casings and evidence of gunfire, so someone has shot at the party venue, which is also supposed to be a restaurant, said the police officer on duty, Jenny Ryberg, to TT during the night.

The police write on their website that several people were checked during the night – but that no one was arrested for the shooting. A preliminary investigation regarding serious weapons crime has been initiated.

Shot at villa in Norrköping

Shots have also been fired in Norrköping. It was around 10 p.m. that the police went to the Hageby area due to a shooting at a villa.

– We are investigating whether there are any underlying reasons why it happened and whether there is a threat to the people at the address. We have made some findings and right now we are waiting for technicians and customary investigative measures such as door knocking are being carried out, says duty officer Peter Ström to the news agency.
