A man from a municipality north of Stockholm has been sentenced by the Norrtälje District Court to seven and a half years in prison for, among other things, aggravated rape of a child and child pornography offences.
It was in September 2023 that a parent reported to the police that his child had been sexually abused. The suspected perpetrator was a 57-year-old man who had been a friend of the family for many years and had also been a babysitter for the child.
During a search of the perpetrator’s home, a quantity of digital material was secured. After the police’s IT forensics officer recreated images that the perpetrator had deleted, it emerged that he had produced abuse material with the girl over several years.
After being in custody for six months, the man is now sentenced to seven years and six months in prison for, among other things, aggravated rape of a child, aggravated child pornography, exploitation of children for sexual posing and attempted exploitation of children by purchasing sexual acts.
He must also pay SEK 600,000 in damages and SEK 50,000 to the crime victim.
