Knife attack against 15-year-old on the subway – see the film on suspected hate crime

Sat that way – got a knife to the throat

It was just after 11 when the SL subway was at the height of Slussen. The 35-year-old stood behind his victim, a 15-year-old boy who was sitting on a seat, and took a knife out of his cloth bag. He put it against the boy’s neck – who managed to break free and run into the subway car.

The 35-year-old ran after the boy and assaulted him. When the 15-year-old was lying on the floor of the carriage, the knifeman delivered several stabs.

Just then the subway arrived at Slussen and the doors opened. The boy managed to kick and break free and escape. The prosecutor has called the timing pure luck.

The prosecutor: Expressed himself racist

After the attack, the 35-year-old was seen calmly walking away from the scene. Later in the evening, the police were called to a residence in southern Stockholm after a man was disorderly at the scene. The patrol recognized the man from the description of the crime in the subway.

The prosecutor has previously stated that the motive behind the knife attack is suspected to be of a hate crime nature. The staff at the man’s residence have testified that the 35-year-old expressed himself racially during the evening. However, the District Court writes in the judgment that the motive is not substantiated.
