Man prosecuted for grossly causing the death of another after the fatal accident in Ljustorp

The fatal accident in Ljustorp occurred at the end of February. The elderly man in his 80s was out walking his dog along the road through the village when he was mowed down by a car driven at high speed by the now accused man. Both the elderly man and his dog were killed in the collision.

The driver was arrested but released after a couple of days at large.

The prosecutor classifies the collision in Ljustorp as causing the death of another / serious crime and gross negligence in traffic. Because the man was under the influence of both amphetamine and alprazolam at the time of the accident, he is also charged with aggravated drunken driving.

He has admitted the actual circumstances, but denies any wrongdoing.

Regarding the car chase, he is charged with gross negligence in traffic and attempted aggravated violence against an official in two cases, which relate to the attempts to run over two policemen.

Other charges: car theft in two cases, theft in three cases, illegal driving / felony, felony drunken driving, drug offense, forgery and theft.
