Man proposes to his girlfriend on Twitch in front of tens of thousands of viewers, but it goes horribly wrong

20-year-old Kai Cenat is Twitch’s rising star at the moment. In an October 25 stream, he wanted to give a viewer a chance to propose to his girlfriend. However, he received a rebuff.

Who is Kai Cenat? The American is celebrating a meteoric rise on Twitch. In less than 2 years he managed to become the second most subscribed streamer on the platform – in English-speaking countries he is even number 1 (via twitchtracker).

What was that request? In a stream on Oct. 25, Kai Cenat invited some viewers to perform with him via Discord video call. Things took a turn when he hooked up a fan with the apt username “proposetomygirl.”

The viewer was preparing instant ramen and explained his situation to Kai Cenat: he had proposed to his girlfriend, but she had rejected it. Now he hopes for help from the surprised streamer.

You can see in the video how the system with paid subscriptions (“subs”) works and what Amazon has to do with it:

Kai Cenat gave the man a few tips (“make it sentimental”) and asked him to propose to his girlfriend again.

The viewer promptly took action and, armed with a ring box, made his way to his partner. Apparently she was lying in bed under a pile of blankets and, according to the viewer, was sleeping.

That didn’t stop the man, however, and he tried his luck. However, the expected “yes” did not materialize, the viewer turned to the streamer for help: “She said ‘no’, what do I do now?”

Kai Cenat advised the unlucky spectator to just try again. He made a declaration of love to his girlfriend before asking the big question again. But he was rebuffed again.

The streamer couldn’t think of anything else either. He told the man it was probably time for his pasta and ended the call saying he didn’t have time for LSF — a nod to the popular LivestreamFail subreddit, where clips are posted by streamers.

The viewers who had been cheering in the chat apparently didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. They doubted whether the situation was right for an application. Others advised the man to separate.

How it went on for the viewer and whether the whole story will have a happy ending is not yet known.
