It was in September 2023 that a parent reported that his child had been sexually abused. The suspected perpetrator was a 57-year-old man who had been a friend of the family for many years and had also been a babysitter for the child.
The police’s IT forensics officer secured quantities of digital material and recreated deleted material where it emerged that he had produced abuse material with the girl over several years.
Sentenced to seven years in prison
After being in custody for six months, the man is now sentenced to seven years and six months in prison for, among other things, aggravated rape of a child, aggravated child pornography, exploitation of children for sexual posing and attempted exploitation of children by purchasing sexual acts.
