Brantford Police are holding two scenes early Monday evening (May 29), as they await the arrival of the province’s Special Investigations Unit.
Police currently have St. George Street closed between Tollgate Road and Queensway Drive, although the road was already closed to through traffic for reconstruction.
Stopped on St. George Street near Tollgate is a white Tesla with what appears to be three bullet holes in the driver’s side window.
Nearby at the intersection of King George and Tollgate, the two southbound lanes were closed, and yellow police tape could be seen surrounding two white vehicles while officers held the scene. It is unclear if the two scenes are are connected.
A media release from Brantford Police Service said a man was injured in an interaction with Brantford police officers who were conducting an investigation in Paris, Ontario on Monday afternoon at about 2:15 pm The man was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police will remain on the scene in Paris and Brantford tonight. Police did not specify the exact locations but asked drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area.
Further information was not released by Brantford Police due to Special Investigations Unit involvement in the case. “Brantford Police Service will be unable to provide further information or comment related to the incident,” said the release.
The SIU has not released any details at this time.
