A 25-year-old man was injured in connection with something detonating at an apartment door in an apartment building in the district of Ronna in Södertälje during the night towards Tuesday.
– The detonation took place in close proximity to one of the apartments in the house and several people live in the apartment and one of them must have been quite close to the door during the explosion so he was injured and has been taken to hospital, says police spokesperson Mats Eriksson.
According to initial information, the man’s injuries are not life-threatening.
The explosion occurred at 01:45 and the site is now cordoned off pending the national bomb disposal and technicians.
– We have knocked on doors to see if anyone has made observations and are looking to see if this particular apartment was the target, says Mats Eriksson.
The police have started a preliminary investigation under the heading of public dangerous devastation.
