Man in his 40s arrested for arson in Örebro

Early on Saturday morning there was a fire in two properties in central Örebro.

– We are on site at both addresses and block off to be able to carry out a technical investigation, said Christina Hallin, press spokesperson at the police.

Around the same time, the emergency services were also alerted to a fire in two dustbins – not far from there.

Now the police announce that a man in his 40s is suspected of having started the fires. He was found near the police station in Örebro on Sunday morning.

He is suspected of arson in one of the properties and of vandalism through the fire in the garbage cans.

The police are also working to link the man to the fire in the other property, the police write.

No one was injured in the fires.
